Lo Hi Dnld Links (How to enable Deep linking from mp3.com)
Copies of "Actual" Audio Mp3's are provided here only with permission by the artist. If no mp3 file is provided here, then please hit the "Back" button and visit the Artist's page to get the actual mp3. You must be a subscriber to www.museeks.com in order to be shown the links to the contributing artist's page in the far right of the listing.
If you are the artist and wish to have your "Direct" Audio Link (instead of the song page's link) displayed here in addition to your main page URL, please send us your links and your permission for us to display your Direct audio links here. Formats can be Mp3 files (*.mp3, *.m3u), Real Audio Files (*.rm, *.ra, etc.), Windows Media Files (*.wma, etc.), or any other popular online streaming audio-video format.
If you are an mp3.com artist and you wish to have your mp3 files play directly through here (ie: "Deep Linking", without the distraction of having to send your visitor to mp3.com's site first), you must enable 'Audio Hosting' in your Artist's Admin area, for your entire mp3.com artist's site. Then you must provide us with the special "Audio Hosting" Links which mp3.com assigns to your recordings, in Lo-Fi, Hi-Fi and Download formats. This is otherwise known as "deep linking", a valuable feature which you must now pay for on mp3.com to enable direct play on your own or our sites without having to send your visitors to an mp3.com page first. We will provide a special online form for you to fill this in soon.
'Audio Hosting' can be had for as little as $4.95/mo for 50 megabytes of audio files. If you need more space, see the Mp3.com Audio Hosting Pricing Sheet Contact artistsupport@mp3.com for more info.
We feel mp3.com's 'Audio Hosting' service is well worth considering, because other streaming hosting providers charge upwards of $500/mo and do not provide good technical or customer support, nor allow you to administer your own content in any convenient fashion. Mp3.com on the other hand allows you to administer your hosted mp3's directly from your Artist's Admin page, alongside your regular mp3.com postings. Therefore you do not have to upload twice--in most cases, you just use the song which you already uploaded for your regular artist's page.
An example of how we use mp3.com 'Audio Hosting' for promoting our own recordings are at www.museeks.com/products/CDs.html. Notice how you can play each mp3 sample "snippet" (another neat option mp3.com offers you) directly from our page, without having to first send your visitor to an mp3.com page full of distracting advertisements.
If you really do not want to pay for Audio Hosting, you may upload your file to our server via our 'Upload' form, which will be coming soon, or e-mail the file & info (one at a time per e-mail please) at: classic-music@mindspring.com. To a limit, we will provide free Audio Hosting for you, thus allowing you to get more exposure for your work on your own pages or ours without paying any fees. However, because this is a free service, we are not able to afford the more expensive media servers of the class mp3.com uses. Therefore our bandwidth (or number of audio clicks we can handle) will be somewhat limited. Hence, this free service is ideal mostly for artists who are just starting, and who do not expect to have a lot of traffic at first. If you are an established artist with lots of traffic already, or with exceptional files which you think will attract a very large amount of clicks, then kindly consider the 'Audio Hosting' offered by mp3.com, as you will be assured of the most reliable connectivity through their excellent multi-million dollar server farm.
We hope to make automate this process by providing a convenient 'Web Submit' form. Please re-visit again!
